ANNOUNCEMENT BY CHARITY BANK IN WALES CYLCH CAPACITY BUILDING INVESTMENT PROGRAMME The Charity Bank in Wales is working with Cylch to deliver a new package of finance and support for Cylch members to aid sustainable development amongst the waste minimisation, re-use, recycling, composting and materials re-processing social enterprises that are the Cylch Full members. The programme will provide a staircase of support from investment readiness through seed grants and patient capital to working capital and longer term loans and asset finance. The details of the full programme will be determined by and announced at the Cylch conference in October and will be informed and shaped by the initial programme of transition funding that will run from now until the conference and beyond to 31st March 2009. Members wishing to access support from this programme to aid their transition to self sustaining social enterprises will be expected to make the case for their needs and to demonstrate a sustainable way forward for their enterprise. Grant aided support may be available initially in the form of training and consultancy for organisations and individual officers and/or trustees to assist their readiness to apply to the programme for appropriate forms of finance. In order to establish whether you qualify for support under the programme, initial enquiries must be made by email to finance@cylch.org.uk or by post to Kayle Martin, Cylch CBIP, 113, Cathedral Rd, Pontcanna, Cardiff CF11 9PH Once your eligibility has been confirmed, Cylch will put you straight in touch with Charity Bank Wales.

!NEW! Wales Recycling Awards now open for nominations!
Cylch, the Wales Community Recycling Network, is pleased to announce details of the second Wales Recycling Awards which will reward excellence in recycling in Wales.
The awards will be presented during Cylch’s 11th annual conference dinner by the Welsh Assembly Government Minister for Sustainability and Housing, Jane Davidson AM.
A short-list of three finalists for each category will be drawn up by an expert panel of key stakeholders in the Welsh recycling scene. The big decision to decide the winner is then handed over to you with a popular on-line (and postal) vote.
Entries who reach the short-list will have a chance to showcase their organisation to a Wales wide audience and will also receive two complimentary places to the annual conference dinner and awards presentation.

Revolve is under attack and needs your help desperately!
Revolve was founded 20 years ago in Canberra, Australia’s National Capital city, as a community charity with the sole objective of creating jobs from the waste stream by scavenging and selling donated goods which would have previously gone to landfill.
After these 20 years and generating around $20 million dollars, and at one time more than 30 jobs for our local community, our business was forcibly put out to tender by Canberra’s Government. Under circumstances which we are still contesting in court, we were locked out of the business we created and the business was given to a commercial operator.
Our barrister is confident we can win our court case if we can only get our day in court.
We leased a block of land while waiting for our case to be heard. We are operating without connection to any services and our debts are rising while we try to finalise the court case.
This battle is bleeding Revolve dry. We fear that without your help one of the longest serving community groups in our industry will be killed off by this bureaucratic vendetta.
