Funding

Funding support
Cylch offers general support to it’s Members relating to funding.

To date Cylch has been responsible primarily for providing advice and support on two main funding streams: the Cleanstream® fund (now closed) and the Strategic Recycling Scheme (SRS) (now closed). This was achieved in partnership with the Wales Council for Voluntary Action, Environment Agency Wales, The Big Lottery Fund, Welsh Local Government and The National Assembly Government.

The Charity Bank Wales has recently tendered for and won a contract to administer a £3m ‘Cylch Capacity Building Investment Fund’. Involvement of the Charity Bank will mean that substantial further funds will be levered into Wales through this initial funding.

Current details of the Capacity Building Fund are available to members only on this web-site with further details being worked out at present

Other funding sources

Wales Council For Voluntary Action (WCVA)
Cylch’s partnership with the WCVA means that Cylch Members can benefit from support and advice from WCVA relating to funding. WCVA administer a number of European grants suitable for the environmental sector.

The WCVA hotline is 0870 607 1666. Their website contains a host of useful downloadable fact sheets, application forms and guidance notes relating to suitable grants.

Environment Wales
Cylch is one of the core partners in the Environment Wales initiative and contributes to the networks that complement its aims as a sustainable development organisation; helping to build sustainable communities through joint environmental action. Cylch employs an Environment Wales Development Officer whose role, amongst other things, is to help recycling projects access Environment Wales funding.

Grants available through Environment Wales include:

  • start-up grants
  • pre-project grants
  • training support grants
  • project grants
