Travel

Cylch will be undertaking a full Ecological Footprint of the 2007 conference, which includes recording delegates travel.

At the 2006 Cylch conference, delegates' travel emitted over 5 tonnes of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere,

Car and taxi journeys contributed to 73% of total miles travelled by delegates, but this was 92% of the total CO2 emissions for travel. We understand the location last year was not particularly convenient for public transport and therefore this year public transport convenience has been a major priority.

The Marriott Hotel, Cardiff is only a 10 min walk from the main train and bus station, and we will be planning the programme to fit in around train and bus times. Therefore we urge all delegates to travel by public transport in order to reduce the CO2 emissions for the conference and therefore reduce its environmental impact.

By Car
If delegates have no other option but to drive, we urge them to try and car share with other delegates from their area wherever possible.

Exit M4 at J29 onto A48M, and follow A48M East heading for Cardiff Bay. Exit A48M at the Llanedeyrn and Newport Road exit and follow signs for City Centre, stay in the middle lane, at the next set of traffic lights go straight ahead continue onto Newport road for 3 miles and follow signs for Cardiff Bay. Follow road until you reach a set of traffic lights, just after passing under a railway bridge and take a left turn, follow past Queen Street Train Station. At traffic lights take a left turn, follow for 600 yards, and at next set of traffic lights turn right, at traffic lights turn left and go under a bridge, at 2nd set of traffic lights turn right, follow to roundabout and take 2nd exit off the roundabout go under railway bridge and at the traffic lights turn right into Mill Lane, the Cardiff Marriott Hotel entrance is situated 100 yards on your right. Turn right into the Hotel and follow the ramp down to the car park.
