The Cylch & Waste Awareness Wales Re-use Event, ‘Working together to make re-use happen’, took place on 1st July in Llandrindod Wells. The event was fully booked and was a great success.
Presentations were given on the policy context of preparing for re-use, the community re-use strategy for Wales, and case studies of successful partnerships already in existence. Delegates participated in workshops and debate around the issue of working together on re-use, and some frank and useful discussions took place.
Cylch and WAW hope that this event will be a valuable step towards working in partnership for Local Authorities and community re-use organisations. Delegates showed plenty of enthusiasm for follow-up activities, so the next step for Cylch and WAW is to look into what can be done to ensure that this positive work continues.
Presentations, notes and feedback from the event are available below. A full report on the issues and opportunities surrounding partnership work on re-use will be produced using the feedback from the workshops at this event. This report will be circulated to the Welsh Assembly Government, WAW, WLGA and Cylch who will all be preparing strategies for re-use across Wales.
