Scaling up community sector reuse – Opportunities with construction and demolition materials
Over 10% of building materials are thrown away and over 10% of the UK’s carbon footprint is due to construction products.
Cylch’s Reuse Days 2012 will examine how social enterprise could be bridging the gap of what is not yet being reused in the UK. Find out how scaling up reuse could play a key role in creating new green jobs to grow the local economy, whilst rebuilding our communities, sustainably, at the same time.
Who should attend?
1. Existing community re-use organisations with an interest in diversifying in construction and demolition waste.
2. Anybody wishing to set up a social enterprise with a focus on the reuse of construction and demolition waste.
3. Housing Associations interested in developing partnerships with the community reuse sector.
The programme will explore:
- Business opportunities for social enterprises in the reuse of construction and demolition materials
- Markets for reclaimed materials, remanufacture and the role of Eco design
- Developing partnerships with the community housing sector
- Opportunities through training and sector skills development
