Event Recycling

The Wales Event Recycling Project aims to implement ‘best practice’ event recycling systems in Wales in partnership with event organisers, local authorities and community sector partners.

The project is able to provide practical advice and support to event organisers on carrying out successful event recycling schemes.

The project can also provide infrastructure items such as:

  • Bins - large and small
  • Labels for bins indicating which materials are to be collected
  • Flags to indicate location of recycling bins
  • Large promotional signs which can be placed around the event site promoting the fact there are recycling schemes in operation

Over fifty events across Wales have received assistance since the project began in 2006, including:

  • The Royal Welsh Show
  • International, Urdd and National Eisteddfods
  • Local Authority organised events
  • A range of smaller events

The Wales Even
t Recycling Project is funded by the Welsh Assembly government. The project and the Project Officer post are hosted by Cylch.

The key project partner is Waste Awareness Wales, who co-ordinate the ‘Recycle for Wales/ Ailgylchu dros Gymru’ campaign and are responsible for producing all promotional branded items for the Project. The use of this branding delivers a consistent recycling message across Wales, regardless of where the event is held.
