Apprenticeship week 2012
Welsh Government:
Apprenticeship Week in Wales is a window of opportunity to celebrate the value of apprenticeships and promote the benefits of employing apprentices to employers. Here you can find details of events that are happening in your area.
Get involved in Apprenticeship Week 2012, which takes place from Monday 6 to Friday 10 February. By working jointly together we have the opportunity to celebrate the value and benefits of apprenticeships on a national scale.
We can offer limited funding for collaborative working and help to promote your event on this apprenticeship website. We can also come along to your event and provide further policy information about Apprenticeships in Wales, just let us know when and where.
There are many ways you can get involved, such as holding employer open days, brunch, ‘masterclass’ events, or showcasing the benefits of the Apprenticeship Matching Service as a recruitment tool. How about hosting a ‘speed-dating session’ where potential employers are able to chat with Apprenticeship employers to hear the benefits from the ‘horse’s mouth’. You could even get one of your trainers to job shadow an apprentice for the day. What about showcasing exemplary apprentices, apprenticeship information and featuring the apprenticeship logo on your website.
Ultimately Apprenticeship Week Wales is about giving more young people a chance. Many apprentices go on to do ‘great’ things for their employers, who in turn say apprentices make their workplaces more productive. But as the recent promotional campaign has been saying, Wales currently needs more employers willing to ‘Make Someone Great’.
Let’s Make 2012 Great for Apprenticeships in Wales!
